As you are all most probably aware, our distinguished District Commissioner (Dave Collette) will be “retiring” at the end of April, having completed the maximum two 5 year terms of office. 

We are now starting the process of searching for his replacement and wish to make all the adults within Watford North District aware that they can apply to be considered for this role.

The role of District Commissioner is based around six key areas of leadership and management :-

  • Using resources 
  • Managing time and personal skills 

The personal qualities required to fulfil this role are :-

  • An understanding of the needs of Young People and adult volunteers 
  • Flexible approach
  • Self-motivated 
  • Able to work as part of a team and promote good teamwork 
  • Resourceful, energetic and enthusiastic about the job
  • Acceptance of the fundamentals of the Scout Movement
