Beavers are 6 to 8 years old.

Beaver Scouts are our second to youngest members. They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

In Watford North, we have a number of competitions and events that we do, including – but not limited to – Beavers Bangers, the handicraft competition, and an annual outing!

During their time at Beavers they have an opportunity to complete and achieve a selection of badges. There are different types of badges they can be awarded;

During their unit sessions Beavers will work towards their Challenge Awards as well as a variety of Activity and Staged Badges. There are a selection of badges that Beavers can complete outside of their unit sessions. Talk to your Beaver Leaders about this.

The highest badge a Beaver can achieve is the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award. To be awarded this badge a Beaver will need to complete all the Challenge Awards as well as any four Activity Badges including Staged Activity Badges.
